Li Janes, of West Caldwell, New Jersey, formerly of Livingston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, at the age of 93.
Li is survived by her son Jaan Janes, her daughter-in-law, Monica, and her grandchildren, Morgan and Ben; and her son Andrew Janes and grandchildren, Kara and Owen.
Li and her family were longtime residents of Livingston, with both sons graduating from Livingston High School.
She worked for many years at J.B. Hanauer in Livingston. She loved summer days spent at the Northland Pool, visiting the Livingston Public Library and playing mahjong with her many Livingston friends.
Li was born in Tartu, Estonia, on November 8, 1928 and immigrated to the United States after World War II. Li was an Estonian through and through and was proud of her heritage and culture.
She loved time with her family, and will be remembered for her unwavering optimism, sense of humor, and sunny outlook on life.
The family plans a celebration of Li’s life in the spring of 2023.
