Norma Paul Benisch

Norma Paul Benisch, 91, of Livingston, NJ and Key Largo, FL, passed away Monday, August 15, 2016. Norma graduated from Caldwell High School in 1942, attended Ohio University, and graduated from New York University in 1946. Mrs. Benisch was an active community volunteer, serving on the Speakers’ Bureau of the United Jewish Appeal, Federation of Jewish Women’s Organizations: as Chapter and Region President, and National Board Member of the Women’s American ORT, Scholarship Chair and Officer at the Jewish Vocational Service of Essex County. She was also Personnel Chair and Board Member of Planned Parenthood of Essex County and Honorary Board Member of Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel, South Orange, where she was the driving force behind the preservation and restoration of the KIP/ RIKER Mansion. Mrs. Benisch was a member of the Mountain Ridge Country Club, West Caldwell and the Ocean Reef Club, Key Largo, FL. Wife of 61 years to the late Abner Benisch, she is survived by her son, Joel Benisch, and daughter, Barbara Benisch; three grandchildren, Grettyl, Cody, and Garrett Benisch; and great-grandson Evan Benisch. A Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel, 32 Scotland Road, South Orange. Burial will follow in B’nai Jeshurun Cemetery, Hillside. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
